Shri Padam Kajaria frequently visited western India in connection with his well-established family business of manufacturing Cast Iron Castings. His visits made him realize the business potential of the Cast Iron industry in Mumbai. Following his entrepreneurial instincts, he shifted to Mumbai, in 1969, and quickly established the Kajaria Group of Companies.
In his early years in the plumbing industry, he laid the roots for the emerging business of cast iron pipes, fittings and manhole covers. He soon grew into the hearts of his customers who lovingly called him the “Cast Iron King”. Kajaria Pipes still remains the largest distributors of Cast Iron in India.
Joining him was his industrious forward-looking son Shri Pankaj Kajaria. With him came a wave of new ideas, innovative processes and strategic thinking. His strong sense of acuity and mastery in understanding market trends made him realize that the consumer demand was shifting from Cast Iron to PVC. Spearheaded by him, Kajaria Pipes expanded into the fast-growing PVC market.
